Jan 18, 2010 Children's Activities at Waterlooville Leisure Centre

With the opening of the new exercise studio the following activities for children are now available:

Mumbaba

This is a singing group for mums and pre school children to meet, sing and chat over a coffee. The class provides a great meeting place for new mums and your children will love learning the words to old favourites such as 'hop little rabbits' and 'wind the bobbin up'

Wednesday mornings 9.30 - 10.30am £3.60 per family

Judo

Judo is both a Martial Art as well as an Olympic Sport; it is practiced around the world. 

Judo helps to develop your child's co-ordination, spatial awareness and self confidence.  It also builds discipline, respect and promotes personal development.

This course is run by Marc Thompson who with 37 years as a judoka is qualified to European Standards and has worked with groups as varies as thousands of children, The British Army, School Clubs and several world and Olympic Champions. He is one of the highest Qualified Coaches in Europe.

This 8 week beginner's course term will focus on learning to fall, rolls and doing basic throws and hold downs, in an age appropriate manner. It will have a fun approach to learning and utilise Marc's skill as a professional entertainer to engage children of all ages.

8 week course starting Saturday 30th January

£32 members / £36 non-members

  • 9.15 - 10.15am 5 - 7 years
  • 10.15 - 11.15am 8 - 11 years
  • 11.15 - 12.15pm 12 - 14 years
