May 24, 2010 Amandas in the Swim for Headway
In 2009 Amanda Hazzard set herself a two year goal to raise £1000 for Headway Portsmouth. Last Thursday during a sponsored swim which saw her complete an amazing 100 lengths of the 25 metre pool at Havant Horizon Centre l in just two hours, a year ahead of her schedule, Amanda reached her target, closely followed by husband Paul, who beat his own personal record too. Amanda and Paul raised almost £500 during their 2 hour swim, which saw Amanda achieve 2500 metres and smash her fundraising goal! The photo will be added to customer's membership records to enable us to improve the control of our entry systems in both Leisure Centres. Millions of Britons have such an unhealthy lifestyle that the effect on their bodies is the same as adding 12 years to their age, research has found. A study has found that the combination of four unhealthy lifestyle factors; smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise and drinking too much increased the risk of dying by such a large degree that it was the equivalent to being 12 years older.
