Working Out Without Worry
As a parent of young children it can feel almost impossible to even get out of the house some days let alone make it to a gym and do an hour’s workout. Some days it feels like there is so much to do that you don’t even get to sit down until 10pm, not to mention you aren’t getting anywhere near as much sleep as you used to so most days you walk around like a zombie until you get your next caffeine fix!
With all this said, WHY would you even try to squeeze the gym into your already hectic day when there is just so much to do? And more to the point, WHERE would you find the time?!
The answer to the ‘where can I find the time’ could very much lie in a gym crèche. We know, it is a worrying thought leaving your baby in the hands of strangers, especially if they are still very young, but the crèche team are there to take care of all of your child’s needs. They won’t go without!
Letting the crèche take care of your little one while you work out will give you a stress-free hour to yourself where you can solely focus on building your body and strength. Let’s face it, strength is something all parents need!
Here are just a few reasons why as a parent you should look after yourself and try to fit the gym into your busy days:
Being a parent is stressful. Exercise is one of the best natural stress relievers because of the endorphins that are released during a workout. Taking time out to relieve your stress will help you to come back from your workout feeling happier and with a clearer mind. This will be a huge benefit to both you and your children and will make the rest of your day together much more enjoyable.
Staying active means more energy
When you’re fitter, you have more energy. All of your daily chores will be much easier when you’re healthy and this means that keeping up with the demands of parenthood will be easier too. So even if you’ve been woken up at 4.30am you will still find the energy to play allll day long! (Well until they fiiiinally go down for a nap at least).
A well-deserved break
Don’t feel guilty for needing to get away from the baby for an hour, it’s completely normal to need some time to yourself! Using the time you spend in the gym as an escape from your busy life is more than okay, it’s actually really sensible! What better way to spend your time alone than working on relieving your stresses and strengthening your body as well as your mind? Especially when you can relax knowing your child is in safe hands.
Boosting your self-confidence
As parents we are so busy looking after our children and making sure their every need is met that we can often forget to look after ourselves. Keeping in shape will help you to feel confident in yourself which can be really helpful when you are trying to juggle 100 things at once. Having the confidence to tell yourself ‘I am doing a good job’ is something we all struggle with, but if you’re feeling good in yourself, it will be much easier!
Being a role model
This may not matter so much when your kids are very young, but as they get older and see that you are making time to keep yourself healthy, they will begin to understand that this is important. The best way to make sure your children grow up to be active and healthy is to make sure that you are too. By showing your children that you make time for exercise even with your busy schedule, your children will learn that staying active is very important.
If all of these reasons are enough for you to want to take yourself to the gym, then why not book your child into the crèche and enjoy some time just working on yourself. You will thank yourself for taking a couple of hours out a week to workout whilst your baby is safe and happy.
Havant Leisure Centre has a great crèche that can look after your children whilst you are working out in the leisure centre. It doesn’t even have to be in the gym, you can also have a swim or go to an exercise class if you prefer.
The crèche team will make sure your child’s needs are met and that they are comfortable and happy all the time you are away. So don’t hesitate or wait any longer, get booked in to the crèche and have some well-deserved time looking after yourself!
